The Healing Rivers

God is drawing us into the healing rivers of His Presence that we may be the releasers of life to others. One of the primary expressions of the nature of God is healing. That is why we see the Lord working throughout the Gospels to bring healing and deliverance to people. Jesus went out of the way to meet the woman at the well. As we know this woman had been married and divorced four times and was currently living with another man. Jesus, seeing her heart, knew what was in deep inside. There was a cry for help and healing deep within her from all of the pain that had been building up over the years. Jesus saw this and made room for her to partake of His goodness. He brought her into an experience with His life presence. Here she was drawing from the well to get water. Jesus comes revealing himself as that very water of life. He was the spiritual reality of what she was coming to get in the natural. I’m sure as He was standing there communicating His life and love to her that waves of His Presence were emanating from His being as the words were spoken. With every word another wave of His Presence would come crashing into her like the waves of an ocean. Then He reveals the secrets of her heart without condemning her or accusing her, but with hope for healing and restoration.

John 4:28-35
The woman then left her waterpot, went her way into the city, and said to the men, 29 Come, see a Man who told me all things that I ever did. Could this be the Christ?" 30 Then they went out of the city and came to Him. 31 In the meantime His disciples urged Him, saying, "Rabbi, eat." 32 But He said to them, "I have food to eat of which you do not know." 33 Therefore the disciples said to one another, "Has anyone brought Him anything to eat?" 34 Jesus said to them, "My food is to do the will of Him who sent Me, and to finish His work. 35 Do you not say, 'There are still four months and then comes the harvest'? Behold, I say to you, lift up your eyes and look at the fields, for they are already white for harvest!

The Food of Jesus

The disciples show up and tell Jesus that He needs to eat something. Jesus responds telling them that He is eating by doing the will of the Father. There is a heart of sacrifice in Jesus that is denying the natural food for a season to embrace the heavenly food for eternity and the manifestation of the Kingdom of Heaven on earth, particularly for this woman. So it is with us when we come into a place of surrender where the food of this earth no longer holds great value to us. Jesus walked in a realm of surrender knowing the place of sensitivity to the Spirit is found in a denial of natural food in exchange for a greater depth of heavenly communication with the Father and the partaking of the food of His perfect will. Looking at Jesus as the example for us, we see the divine connection of a higher level of sensitivity in our walk with the Holy Spirit by finding the revelation of and integration of fasting and prayer into our lives. In this place divine encounters are opened up for others to experience His Presence through us. His Presence is healing and life. When people encounter Him in His manifest Presence there is no longer an issue to debate. They have now tasted of His goodness and the high realm of heaven that has no rival.

The Testimony of Jesus

This last week I was driving down the road and the Lord dropped this verse in me about “the food of Jesus”. So I was musing over it again and again in a very sensitive place in the Spirit. Picking up some chocolates for some friends overseas I stopped into this little chocolate shop and picked out the items I needed. At the cash register this lady just begins to tell me about her neck condition and the pain associated with it. It immediately caught me attention so I thought I would probe a bit and repeated to her, “So it is painful?” She responded with much more detail going back to a history of problems in her back and etc . . . I asked her if she would like for him to pray for her and after a bit she agreed. So I laid my hand on her neck and asked for the fire of His Presence to run up and down her spine and neck right there in the chocolate shop and burn away all of the pain and problems. After a minute or so of praying I stopped. Immediately she said, “That was different! My arms and body are tingling all over with something . . .” I asked her to move her neck and etc . . . She did and found that it had loosened and that the pain seemed to be gone! So the Lord had a divine appointment for this woman knowing her heart and condition. I believe one of the reasons that this occurred is that I had not eaten anything until 3:00 in the afternoon and had been in place worship and prayer continually. So just going along his way and doing the things that he normally would do God had a plan to show up with him in a powerful way . . . Gifts of faith are released when we put ourselves in a sensitive place with the Spirit. The Lord wants this to happen with all of us. It is how God wants to bring in the harvest. Jesus brings this word in the context of the harvest. There is power in the testimony of what Jesus has done and does! We get to co-labor with Him writing the book of His testimony of the things that He has done, does and will do in the lives of those we come in contact with manifesting the power of His Presence.
