Cutting
Off the Cousins
The flesh and the demonic are close cousins. The
flesh represents that which revolves around “I”.
It is all about striving, controlling, forcing things
to happen, anxiousness, having a “driven”
mindset, stepping out ahead of time, lack of self-control
and much, much more . . . Demons feed on that lifestyle.
Self-consciousness, self-pity and any other thing
that revolves around self is no threat to the powers
of darkness, but actually helps them. It is
a vicious circle that is only broken by repentance,
cutting off the evil through renounciation and confrontation,
cleansing of the Blood of Jesus and the denial of
self realized in Christ’s work on the cross
reckoning one’s self dead to sin and
alive to God.
James 3:13-17
But if you have bitter envy and self-seeking
in your hearts, do not boast and lie against the truth.
15 This wisdom does not descend from above, but is
earthly, sensual, demonic. 16 For where envy and self-seeking
exist, confusion and every evil thing are there.
Experiential
Revelation
The deliverance from this
sort of life must come through greater experiential
revelation of God. It begins with a choice.
It comes through fulfilling our call as priests unto
God, ministering to the Lord. As we spend time
in His Presence, receiving the anointing of the Spirit,
the powers of darkness begin to break off our being.
We sense a greater liberty and freedom. There
then comes revelation and flow of understanding that
the fleshly mind (headiness) would try to accomplish
with much striving, only to get a confused mixture
of principles and language that does not communicate
to the heart. It is about placing ourselves
in a place of receptivity. Striving in the flesh
through our intellegence has no role in receiving
from the Spirit. Maybe that is why God prefers
to call us sheep. They are not smart. . . And it is
required of the sheep to stay close to the shepherd.
Condition
of the Heart
It is a heart condition that draws the Lord.
He is looking for a contrite and humble spirit within
us. This is where He can come. He is drawn
like a magnet to the inner life that is consecrated
and devoted to communion with Him. The hunger
condition is the key that opens the door of various
and diverse blessings from God. His storehouse
is full of gifts. He is the Father who has abundant
gifts for abundant life to present and perfect the
overflow in our lives.
Isa 57:15
For thus says the High and Lofty One Who
inhabits eternity, whose name is Holy:
"I dwell in the high and holy place, With him
who has a contrite and humble spirit,
To revive the spirit of the humble, And to revive
the heart of the contrite ones.
The
Psalmist
The
psalmist had the experience where his cup ran over.
It was an abundant experience of life and flow.
Even in the psalmist realm of receiving revelation
for songs of the Spirit, David walked in the depths
of flow and freedom experiencing the life of God that
came forth from the songs that carried anointing for
deliverance. David knew how to place himself
under the heavenly spout to receive heaven’s
deposits into his spirit. His hands were armed
with the skill of writing and his mouth brought the
release of heavenly things blowing within his being.
It is those deposits from heaven’s treasury
that carry the weight to deliver ourselves and others
from the heaviness and oppression of the enemy.
Seated
in the Heavenly Realms
No human might can break the power of evil. It
has to be received from heaven, then released through
us into the earth. So our light is only as bright
as the light that has been revealed to us from the Source
of True Light. It is revelation of the Truth that
“makes” us free. It is in the heavenly
realms, the “seated” position with Christ
in these realms, which places the legitimate true authority
within our hearts to rule and reign with Him.
It is the seated position because it is a place of rest.
It is not a place of striving. He is seated, therefore
we are seated. We are not standing in the heavenly realms
with Christ. We are “seated”. It is
consistent with the words in Hebrews where we are exhorted
to “enter that rest of faith”. It
is in this place of divine rest, peace, ease and joy
that we carry the weight and authority of the Father.
It will not be found in being “busybodies”.
It is the living revelation in the rested place, the
seated place with Christ that we are overcomes of the
flesh and the demonic. It is easy to get busy
and push, but who can stay still and silince the noise
of voices and of the soul. . .
Ephesians 1:3
"Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord
Jesus Christ, who has blessed us with every spiritual
blessing in the heavenly places in Christ,"
Ephesians
1:20
"Which He worked in Christ when He
raised Him from the dead and seated Him at His right
hand in the heavenly places."
Divine
Connection, Demonic Destruction
Revelation says that “they overcame him (the
devil)”. If we are to overcome the devil
the flesh must be overcome first. The flesh
is the inroad that the devil travels on to bring corruption,
deception and destruction. If the flesh is overcome
in our lives there is no place for him to camp out!
But conquering the flesh is not through the weapons
of the flesh, but through divine connection and perception
of God in the context of communion. Paul was
concerned that the church at Corinth would be deceived
out of that place of simplicity, intimacy and communion
with Christ. He knew that this was the only
hope for victory and source of strength. The
priestly life is the foundation and the source of
power for the life He calls us to live. It is
in this place that you hear. It is in this place
that you see. It is in this place that you receive.
Out of fulfilling your ministry of worship to the
Lord everything else falls into place. If you
get this out of order, your life will be out of order.
It is the honor of the saints to minister at His feet.
Deut
33:2-3
"The LORD came from Sinai,And dawned on them
from Seir;
He shone forth from Mount Paran,And He came with ten
thousands of saints;
From His right hand Came a fiery law for them.
3 Yes, He loves the people; All His saints are in Your
hand;
They sit down at Your feet;Everyone receives Your
words."
